Michael Chow lists $6.5M DUMBO penthouse
Fresh off the heels of his new marriage, celebrity-restauranteur Michael Chow (otherwise known as Mr. Chow) has listed his DUMBO penthouse at One John Street for $6.495 million, as first reported by Curbed.
Chow spent a little under $5.8 million on the pad with his now ex-wife Eva Chun in 2016, per city records, so he's looking to make a tidy profit here. Considering he told the New York Times in 2016 that “Expensive is important. Very important," the price bump does make a good degree of sense.
Per the listing – with Eric Sidman of Compass – this penthouse comes with a 750-square-foot private roof terrace, plus a private interior courtyard, and has three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms across 2,600 square feet. The duplex spans the 11th and 12th floors of the building, and it's certainly got some pretty incredible views of the city and the Brooklyn Bridge from its six living room windows.
Known for its expensive prices and scene-y clientele (think: everyone from Andy Warhol to Ivanka Trump), Mr. Chow celebrated its 50th anniversary last year at its locations around the world, including two in New York, on 57th Street and Tribeca.
