Chicago Gets a Glorious New Park in Streeterville
Streeterville just got a whole lot greener.
A new park just opened in August at 436 E. Illinois St. in the desirable Chicago neighborhood, making what was already a destination (Navy Pier and the Chicago Lakefront are right there, after all) into a vibrant and beautiful place to live.
Designed by Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates – who also did Maggie Daley Park and the planned Obama Presidential Center – and developed by Related Midwest, Bennett Park is a two-acre green space that is adjacent to the new 70-story condo and rental tower, One Bennett Park by Robert A.M. Stern. The lushly landscaped park has plenty of room for exploration. And not just for humans – there's also two dog runs, with lots of space for your four-legged friends to play. For children, there is a playground with a play garden, a large sandbox with bridges, swings and slides, a timber-climbing forest, winding trails, bench seating and stroller parking.
The park is located at 436 E. Illinois St. and is open to the public everyday from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
